NUR 448 Community Health Nursing

Prerequisites: NUR 350, NUR 352 and NUR 355 with C or better.

This course focuses on integration and application of public-health and community based nursing care. Social, cultural, economic, and political influences on families, communities, and the healthcare system will be explored. Emphasis is on assessment and health planning with families and populations at risk for health problems. The community health clinical settings include a variety of health and community agencies. This course includes three hours of didactic/classroom experience each week and 84 hours of clinical experience per term.
