Environmental Science

The BA in Environmental Science (ENV) is an interdisciplinary major that prepares students for work and graduate study in solving an array of environmental challenges including pollution, biodiversity loss, climate change, and environmental health. 

Degree Requirements

A BA in Environmental Science is achieved by completion of the following requirements, in addition to the General Education and electives required for a degree: 

Required Core Courses

Introductory Courses

SENS 100 or BIO 110

CHM 131

ANR 130 or BIO 114

GEO 101

Students must have completed two of these courses before admission to the major. 

Advanced Coursework

ANR 240

SENS/BIO 310 or BIO 346

GEO/SENS 320

CHM 221 or CHM 311

GEO course at or above the 200 level 

Required Distribution Courses

Two (2) additional courses chosen from the following list, at least one of which must be either SENS or GEO:
