BIO 202 Human Anatomy & Physiology II

Prerequisites: BIO 201 with a grade of C or higher, or permission of instructor

Human Anatomy and Physiology II is the second course of a two-course sequence that examines anatomical, histological, and physiological mechanisms of the human body. Topics covered include special senses, blood, and the nervous, endocrine, reproductive, respiratory, digestive, and urinary systems. Emphasis is placed on interrelationships among systems and regulation of physiological functions involved in maintaining homeostasis. While the lecture component emphasizes physiological concepts, the lab provides a hands-on learning experience for exploring both gross and microanatomy of the systems as well as some basic physiological concepts. Three class periods (70 min each) and one three-hour laboratory period each week are provided. Students are required to co-register for a Peer Assisted Learning (BIO 202P) course that is designed to assist students in their learning of anatomy and physiology content.
