REL 281 Islamic Philosophy (PHI)

An introduction to major themes, thinkers, and texts of the Islamic intellectual tradition from the 7th century CE (1st century AH) to the present. Many of the debates engendered by philosophers and theologians more than a thousand years ago still resonate in Muslim philosophical discourse
today. The course will end by looking at contemporary issues in Islamic philosophy. Religion Perspective
