PHY 128 General Physics II

Prerequisite: PHY 127; completion or waiver of MAT 125 or permission of Instructor

The second semester of a two-semester introductory sequence in non-calculus physics, with laboratory. Major topics include oscillations and waves; electricity, magnetism and DC circuits; light and optics; and atomic physics. Students will learn to apply basic principles of physics to explain and model natural phenomena, with an emphasis on applications in the life sciences. Three lectures periods and one laboratory session each week.
