MAT 311 Probability

Prerequisite: MAT 135 with a grade of C or higher; MAT 225 or concurrent enrollment; or permission of instructor

The goal of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of Probability theory and its applications. Topics include: random experiments, outcomes, and events; conditional probability and independence; random variables; discrete and continuous distributions; moment generating functions; jointly distributed random variables; and the Central Limit Theorem. Practical Reasoning with Quantitative Emphasis (PRQ).
